The Sorolla Museum is a museum located in Madrid (Spain). It was created at the request of the painter's widow, Clotilde García del Castillo, who dictated testament by donating to the State funds for the foundation of a museum in memory of her husband. On March 28, 1931 the legacy of the painter's widow was accepted by royal order, and it was classified as a charitable-teaching foundation of a particular nature. The Museum was inaugurated in 1932, and it was left in the care of a patronage. It is located in the palace where the painter had his last house and his workshop.
